UChicago Transfer Deadline and Decision Date

Transfer early decision applicants at the University of Chicago have until March 1 to submit their applications for priority consideration. However, rolling decision applications will be accepted until June 1 (though we recommend submitting by March 1). Decisions will start being released in early May.

What GPA Do You Need For UChicago?

The University of Chicago does not disclose an average GPA for admitted transfer students; however, our experience says that a 3.9 or higher would give you the best chance during the admission process.

UChicago is need-aware for domestic transfer students, meaning the university considers applicants’ financial situations during admissions. This helps UChicago manage financial aid resources while admitting a diverse and qualified student body. Unlike need-blind policies, financial need can influence admissions decisions in a need-aware process.

International transfer applicants applying to UChicago are not eligible to apply for need-based financial aid.
